BYE BYE BIRDIE :: Midcentury madcap

One of the first pop musicals to hit the Broadway stage was Bye Bye Birdie. It was a simple comedy about an small town in Ohio that is visited by pop star Conrad Birdie before he goes to serve in the military. Birdie is a more than obvious nod to Elvis, and he has turned the town upside down with his visit. This story is fun, silly, and filled with catchy tunes.
